In 2006, I created an online package for the Howard County Democratic Party to act as a “Year in Review” attack on Matt McKillip’s record in 2005. The theme was “Matt McKillip: Wrong for Kokomo in 2005, Wrong for Kokomo Now.” It launched online on New Year’s Day, unveiling a web-only video I created that displayed incriminating quotes from the news media and even the mayor’s fellow Republicans. It corresponded with a specially-designed website featuring a series of articles that served as indictments of McKillip’s leadership in 2005. I then blasted an HTML email to hundreds of local supporters summarizing the project’s message, providing a link to the commercial, and soliciting contributions to the Party. That day, we accepted our first online donation as hundreds viewed the ad.
