This project is perhaps my premiere online effort, encompassing pretty much everything I consider critical for any online campaign.
Ron Herrell’s campaign is a top-tier race, critical to wrestling control of the Indiana House from the Republicans and providing a check on Mitch Daniels’s power. Herrell, a three-term legislator that lost in 2004 by a razor thin margin, knows how important it is to reach every single voter.
I joined the campaign as the webmaster, designing his first-ever campaign website. We rapidly expanded online operations to produce multiple online commercials (like “A Million” and “The Ron Herrell Story”) and empower the grassroots by providing printable versions of all of our literature and campaign materials for distribution among family and friends. The videos singularly increased the average visit length of those on the website upping a four-minute average to now eight and a half minutes. Nearly 3,000 views of the website have been recorded in its first month online with each person clicking through to seven different pages on each visit. “A Million” was featured in Indiana Daily Legislative Insight for its ground-breaking nature among Legislative races.
I’ve also designed printed pieces, e-mail solicitations, and letterhead for the campaign.
